Koppert and Smurfit Westrock have been awarded a Gold placement in the Czech & Slovak Packaging Award, Obal roka 2025, for their sustainable Natupol Terra hive concept. The recognition highlights the partners’ shared commitment to reducing waste and advancing sustainability in agriculture.
Natupol Terra is Koppert’s first hive concept completely free of plastic components, developed in collaboration with Smurfit Westrock. Made from corrugated board, the hive represents an important milestone in Koppert’s ongoing journey toward circular and responsible production systems.
The Natupol Terra hive is currently being tested with berry growers. Early field trials have shown that it delivers the same pollination performance as existing hives while significantly lowering its environmental footprint. This recognition reinforces Koppert’s and Smurfit Westrock’s shared ambition to create practical, scalable solutions that enable a more sustainable future for agriculture.
