Friedheim expands partnership with Scodix to deliver Digital Embellishment solutions

Friedheim International has confirmed a significant expansion of its long-standing partnership with Scodix.

Under the redeveloped agreement, Friedheim will now offer Scodix’s complete portfolio of digital embellishment solutions to customers throughout the UK and Ireland, enabling printers, converters, and packaging specialists to access the latest Scodix innovations through Friedheim’s widespread sales and support infrastructure.

A significant aspect of the expanded partnership is the introduction of the revolutionary Scodix Ultra 7000 SHD, the world’s first digital embellishment press specifically engineered for rigid and corrugated substrates – debuted and launched formally at Corrugated by FESPA Barcelona. This will be sold via Friedheim’s Corrugated and Carton Division.

The new Scodix Ultra 7000 SHD represents a major advancement in digital embellishment technology, enabling high-definition tactile finishes to be applied directly onto heavy-duty materials including corrugated board, acrylic, Dibond, aluminium composites, Forex, and other rigid media.

Designed for the signage & display, luxury packaging, POS/POP, and commercial print sectors, the Ultra 7000 SHD opens new opportunities for print providers seeking to differentiate through premium embellishment, shorter production runs, faster turnaround times, and sustainable digital workflows.

The Scodix Ultra 7000 SHD incorporates Scodix’s latest SHD technology platform and supports a wide range of applications, including foil, tactile enhancements, variable embellishment, and high-definition special effects, all delivered without the limitations of traditional analogue tooling.

Darren Crane, Managing Director at Friedheim International, commented, “Scodix has consistently led the market in digital embellishment innovation, and we are delighted to expand our partnership both into new markets with the new technology. The Ultra 7000 SHD creates exciting opportunities for customers looking to push creative boundaries across packaging, display graphics, and commercial print applications – a sector which is very exciting for us at this time”

The redeveloped partnership reinforces both companies’ commitment to helping print businesses increase profitability through high-value embellishment, automation, and innovative production capabilities.
