It has been reported that the Italian cartonboard producer, FM Cartiere srl, are in financial difficulties.
According to documents filed with the Piedmont regional government, the company has ceased production from the middle of September and has applied for temporary layoffs for all employees for 12 months. The documents site poor demand and generally weak market conditions.
The Momo mill, which runs a 2.6m board machine, has an annual production capacity is 80,000 tons of various cartonboard grades in weights from 270 to 550gsm.
