Giovanni Bettini, Head of Sales, MHI EMEA and South America, has confirmed that towards the end of 2022, a four colour EVOL with MPF Pre-feeder successfully started up at Rawibox in Poland, which is part of the Rossmann Group, and now has been successfully running for already one year.
With plants across Europe and Africa, Rawibox is Rossmann’s second plant in Poland. It is a greenfield site, complete with triplewall corrugator, fully automatic intralogistics, and a range of converting equipment, including the EVOL as well as a jumbo flexo folder gluer. The build phase was certainly challenging, as it mostly took place during the pandemic and associated lock-down periods, but the company started up the new facility successfully in 2023.
It is a state-of-the-art plant, located in Jasienica, Bielsko Biała (Southern Poland), equipped with high level equipment and technologies, with a triplewall corrugator (with fanfold), fully automatic intralogistics, WIP and packing line by N.E. Engineering and a variety of converting machines to satisfy all the needs of the customers. The EVOL is a fully automatic line, equipped with MPF pre-feeder, Fossaluzza automatic palletiser, Mosca strapping machine, as well as N.E. Engineering fully automatic infeed and outfeed conveyors.
“We were very much impressed with the installation and start-up of the EVOL and how accurately and precisely MHI people were checking and measuring each box produced at commissioning,” said Krzysztof Kadys, General Manager. “The operators who run the EVOL are all new people to the industry who had no experience of working on converting lines at all, and we have been impressed with how quick they could learn to run the EVOL. They are running it at 350 boxes per min consistently, which also means the EVOL is a user friendly machine.”
