The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) has been officially postponed and simplified, with new deadlines of 30 December 2026 for large organisations and 30 June 2027 for smaller companies.
The news comes following a December 2025 EU Parliament vote to address implementation challenges and ease burdens, including simplifying requirements for smaller entities and removing some printed products from scope.
Fibre-based packaging products remain unaffected. Finished print products such as books, newspapers, manuscripts, typescripts, as well as “pictures and other products of the printing industry” have been removed from Annex I and no longer included within the scope of the EUDR.
