Energy supply project for Aschaffenburg paper mill

In partnership with E.ON, DS Smith has confirmed it is significantly upgrading the energy supply at its Aschaffenburg paper mill in Germany to supplement natural gas with the incineration of materials that can’t be used for papermaking.

The company says that the Waste-To-Energy facility is expected to reduce its reliance on natural gas by 25%, equating to circa 50,000 tonnes of CO2 saved per year.
