Encase Leeds upgrade corrugator

In May, Agnati completed the installation of a new 2050mm TREL duplex knife at Encase Packaging in Leeds, UK. The installation was completed over the May Bank Holiday weekend, commencing at 06.00 on the Friday morning and the machine started production at 06.00 on Tuesday.

“It was critical that Agnati were able to meet the tight installation plan, which we achieved without any issues or problems,” explains Michael Schmiedt, Sales Director. “Detailed planning and technical site visits took place in advance with the Encase site team, Escada, Agnati and Sigma Squared Solutions over three months leading into the project. We had to ensure that the schedule could be met, to limit any disruption of board availability for conversion. The new equipment was installed and commissioned on time, with no disruption to the supply of finished packaging for customers.”

Since completion, Encase has confirmed the new duplex cut-off has performed well, with excellent cut length accuracy and speed performance, which had already been guaranteed by Agnati. The new unit was integrated into the current line without any major problems and the technical aspect of the install went without any problems.

“The new cut-off will ensure the reliability and accuracy that is demanded by the site for producing high quality packaging for customers and the growing corrugated market in the UK. Encase are happy to have developed a close working relationship with the Agnati team and the equipment portfolio they offer to the corrugated sector,” said Jon Jinks, General Manager of Encase Leeds.
