Klabin is set to build a new greenfield plant in Piracicaba, in the state of Sao Paulo. Built on a land area of 950,000 sqm, this new site will be able to produce 240,000 tons per year of corrugated board, reaching a maximum production peak of 340 outgoing pallets per hour.
The materials handling system is being designed and manufactured by Emmepi Group.
“The plant in Piracicaba will be the largest and most high-tech enterprise for the production of corrugated packaging in Brazil,” says Douglas Dalmasi, Packaging Director, Klabin.
“The agreement is the result of a partnership that began 15 years ago, consolidated over time by automating the production processes in the various plants that Klabin has in Brazil,” adds Alberto Fioriti, CEO, Emmepi Group.
The project involves the creation of a fully automated and integrated production flow, from the output of the corrugator to the storage of the finished product, allowing the machines to work continuously. The flow management software will be interfaced with the Klabin management system, using the highest automation standards.
“The historic partnership between our companies has in fact allowed the Emmepi Group to grow and become what it is today: a worldwide benchmark company,” concludes Alessandro Bersanetti, President, Emmepi Group.
