Thimm has once again been awarded a silver medal by EcoVadis. The company increased its points score in this year’s EcoVadis Sustainability Ratings, achieving 63/100 points, up from 58/100 last year.
This result places Thimm is in the top 10% of companies rated by EcoVadis in the sector producing corrugated paper and corrugated board as well as packaging materials from the paper, board and cardboard sector.
Companies’ sustainability performance is rated by the four sustainability areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. In all four areas, Thimm Group scored significantly above the average for the reference sector and in particular increased its performance for environment and sustainable procurement. With this result, Thimm is one of the top 25% of the 75,000 companies rated by EcoVadis worldwide.
“The result underlines the importance of corporate responsibility in our company. In our sustainability vision, we anticipate and solve economic, ecological and social challenges,” explains Michael Weber, Head of Corporate Strategy + Marketing, Thimm Group. “Sustainability performance and relevant transparent communications are important factors for future-oriented companies,” Weber continues. “Based on the information we provide on the internationally recognised platforms, our customers can form an independent image of Thimm.”
Additionally, the company has been collecting information since 2014 on sustainable developments in its sustainability reports. “We also expect our suppliers and business partners to implement and comply with social and environmental standards. We have therefore set out comprehensive guidelines with regard to ethical criteria in the Code of Conduct,” Weber concludes.
