Dunapack Packaging has confirmed it is in cooperation with Siemens to implement an energy metering and monitoring system in 17 of their plants, being piloted first in Straßwalchen, Austria.
The system will provide a comprehensive view of energy consumption, establish a baseline and improve data accessibility to encourage and drive energy efficiency initiatives. Dunapack says it is targeting that these initiatives will lead to saving a potential of 4.250 tons CO2 per year, which fully pays into Dunapack Packaging’s ESG strategy.
Alexander Enzenberg, Managing Director, Topic Owner of ESG, Operations & Procurement, Dunapack Packaging, stated, “ESG is of great importance for the Prinzhorn Group and all its divisions. We view ESG as a mission and as our responsibility towards our employees, customers, business partners and society at large. I remain convinced that the cooperation of Dunapack Packaging with Siemens will further strengthen us on our ESG journey.”
Horst Santner, Cluster Managing Director of Straßwalchen, added, “We are happy to kick-off the collaboration with Siemens in Straßwalchen. Efficient and responsible usage of our limited resources is fully in line with our company core values.”
Werner Schöfberger, Head of Digital Industries – Process Automation, Siemens, commented, “I’m thrilled about our collaboration regarding the advanced energy metering – and monitoring system. Together, we are able to drive change and create a sustainable, cross-border future. I’m looking forward to upcoming projects with Dunapack and I’m grateful about the excellent collaboration with the team.”
