DS Smith site fully operational in Modena, Italy

DS Smith has invested significantly in recent years to ensure quality, service and increase the production capacity of sustainable and innovative packaging solutions to support its customers in increasing sales, reducing costs, minimising risks and achieving their goal of sustainability; this has allowed the company to successfully increase its volumes and turnover in the Italian market. DS Smith is present in Italy with 20 plants and over 1,500 employees.

To continue to offer its customers the innovative sustainable packaging products and services they need, DS Smith has completed the construction of a new factory in Castelfranco Emilia (Modena). The plant is now fully operational and will have an overall production capacity of over 200m sqm per year with up to 10 converting lines. The plant is located in the Modena area, in an area where DS Smith was not yet present with an integrated plant.

“This new state-of-the-art facility will provide the necessary capacity to respond to the evolution of the sustainable paper-based packaging market, meeting the demands of our customers,” commented Paolo Marini, Managing Director, DS Smith Packaging Italy. “We are redefining packaging for an evolving world and will continue to design and innovate with sustainable packaging solutions.”
