DS Smith opens first Impact Centre in Iberia

DS Smith has opened its first Impact Centre in Iberia. The brand-new facility was officially opened on 13th November and is located in Torrejon de Ardoz near Madrid. The new premises will provide a practical environment for DS Smith to host its customers located in Iberia, demonstrating to retailers, marketers and packaging buyers the value of packaging and what can be achieved with smart packaging design.

Laid out as a complete retail store, customers will be taken through the whole supply cycle journey from design to the moment of truth with shoppers, as well packing, storage and distribution. The Impact Centre will enable DS Smith to show customers how well-designed corrugated packaging, that is tailored to their individual needs and supply cycle challenges, can better connect a brands marketing strategy with shoppers, drive sales in store through availability and range, and reduce costs in packing, warehousing and distribution, to generate margin, profit and opportunity for new contracts.

In addition, potential retailers will be able to learn from DS Smith experts sharing knowledge and best practice on how to best adapt to fast-moving retail changes, such as growth in convenience and discount formats and how to reflect the changing trends in consumer behaviour in their packaging.

Cova Serrano, Marketing Manager DS Smith Spain, said, “The opening of this Impact Centre is a significant milestone for the Iberian region, as we now have the facilities to showcase the true power of packaging to our customers in a physical, engaging environment. Our Impact Centres also provide the perfect opportunity to not only showcase the benefits of getting your packaging right to the packaging buyer, but also to other key stakeholders within a customer’s business. We are really excited to start using the facility and sharing our expertise with our customers.”

The centre was opened by Miles Roberts, CEO of DS Smith.
