“The market for corrugated boxes in Berlin is well served,” says Matthias Frangenheim, CEO of Carl Evers oHG. “Everybody knows us as ‘Kartonfritze’ and we can supply any type or quantity of corrugated packaging; from one box with a single colour, right through to longer runs with mutiple colours, thanks to our latest investment. Thanks to the WD 250-8A digital press from Wonderjet, we can print personalised boxes now as well.”
The company was founded 1903; it first produced bottling for mineral water. Then some yeras later, they started to make Rollmops (rolled and marinted salted herring) and fruit in glass packaging. From the 1960s, they started to make Sauerkraut and Berliner sour cucumbers and by 1989, they were the biggeste supplier in Berlin for canned sour products. “Due to our growth, we started to manufacture our own corrugated trays and boxes for shipment.
The WD 250-8A digital printer from Shenzhen Wonder Printing has a working width 2500mm, can print on a wide range of substrates including wood and 30mm corrugated board up to 10m length. The project was handled by Alex Steinmüller from KF-Machinery GmbH.
