The Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) has recently hosted its Collaborating for Circularity Roundtable at Portcullis House, bringing together members, retailers, producers, policymakers and industry stakeholders for a timely and constructive discussion on the future of the circular economy.

Co-chaired by Tristan Osborne and Alex Veitch, CEO of the Confederation of Paper Industries, the roundtable provided an important opportunity to engage directly with Mary Creagh CBE MP, Minister for Nature, ahead of the publication of England’s Circular Economy Growth Plan. Discussions focused on:
- How industry and government can work in genuine partnership to deliver circularity across the entire supply chain;
- Ensuring the Circular Economy Growth Plan aligns effectively with wider waste and resources reforms, including EPR and Simpler Recycling;
- The practical support businesses need to meet sustainability ambitions while maintaining consumer choice and affordability.
“Held under the Chatham House Rule, the session enabled open and solution-focused dialogue,” said Alex Veitch. “It was encouraging to see strong alignment on the importance of collaboration, policy clarity and long-term investment to unlock circular growth. Thank you to all those who contributed their insights and expertise. We look forward to continuing the conversation and working together to ensure the UK’s circular economy framework supports both environmental and economic objectives.”
