Cold foiling investment for Van Genechten

Van Genechten Packaging have confirmed the successful commissioning of a new offset printing capability utilising cold foil technology at their site in Angoulême, France. Installed and commissioned in partnership with Vinfoil, the machine will be producing its first orders in April, with more projects already in the pipeline.

VGP says that cold foil technology allows them to stay on the cutting edge of consumer packaging and is a perfect fit for the company’s ambitions to be seen as best-in-class in the markets they operate in. It offers a cost effective, easily optimised and efficient solution to premium-packaging customers, but also provides substantial sustainability benefits.

Smart use of material and built-in recyclability help reduce the technology’s environmental impact significantly. Meanwhile, the process itself represents a reduction in foil waste.

Jérôme Cahu, Plant Manager, VGP Angoulême, said, “My team and I are proud to have this extra capability up and running so fast. VGP’s investment is starting to pay off with the machine’s early output already well booked and the additional capacity opening up the potential for new customers to enjoy the company’s innovative approach. This innovative process fits perfectly alongside our offerings of hotfoil, metallization transfer and metallic inks, meaning we have the perfect solution for any market need.”
