Valmet has confirmed the appointment of Pia Aaltonen-Forsell as its new Chief Financial Officer and a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team. Aaltonen-Forsell will report to Thomas Hinnerskov, President and CEO, and is due to start the role by the end of January 2027.
Aaltonen-Forsell joins Valmet from Finnair, where she serves as CFO. Her previous finance leadership roles include CFO positions at Northvolt, Outokumpu, Ahlstrom-Munksjö, Munksjö and Vacon, as well as various management and finance positions at Stora Enso. She is also a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit Committee at UPM-Kymmene.
Aaltonen-Forsell succeeds Valmet’s CFO Katri Hokkanen, who as announced on March 20, 2026, is leaving her role as the CFO by the end of September 2026.
