Business as Usual for Harris

Harris Waste Management, a leading supplier of size-reduction machinery for the world-wide recycling industry, has been in business continuously for over 130 years and continues to operate on a business-as-usual basis during the current Covid-19 crisis.

Harris UK, the company’s own Parts & Service operation based in Gloucestershire, reports a busier-than-usual 2020 having completed major overhauls for several key customers and has continued to supply parts both for Harris/IPS balers and for Accent/LPWT strappers with no interruption to normal service.

Their service team has been maintained at full strength to meet customers’ needs say Harris. “We have strived to maintain our usual high level of parts availability and quick responses to breakdowns and queries. The lockdown has resulted in many of our customers seeing higher-than-usual volumes of material, so we have been there to meet the resulting increase in call-outs and parts requirements.”

Harris claim to offer the widest range of balers in the world, including two-rams and open and closed-end horizontals. The latest addition to the two-ram range is the Spartan, which produces 1000mm x 1100mm bales for ease of loading. From the 40HP Wolverine through to the top-of-the range HRB-1545, all produce consistent-sized bales from most grades of recyclables, with throughputs from 3 to in excess of 70tph.
