Bollegraaf upgrades paper sorting line at Ecotri recycling facility

Bollegraaf has confirmed it has completed an upgrade of the paper sorting line at the recycling facility of long-term customer Ecotri Atelier Fouesnantais in France as part of Citeo‘s Fibre Quality and Performance project.

The upgrade was designed to improve paper purity and recovery rates, reduce manual sorting and lower operating costs by integrating two Opti-Sort units into the existing installation. The Opti-Sort technology enables paper to be positively sorted at high speed with greater accuracy, allowing four manual sorting positions to be removed from the sorting line. The system is designed to handle lightweight materials, such as individual sheets of paper, at conveyor speeds of up to 6.5m/s.

The upgrade has resulted in improved paper purity and recovery, while increasing sorting efficiency and reducing reliance on manual intervention,” said the company in LinkedIn. “The project demonstrates how targeted upgrades to existing recycling facilities can enhance operational performance without the need for a complete system replacement.”
