Bobst Group releases H1 2021 – good progress made

Bobst Group says that it has got off to a good start in 2021 with an exceptionally strong order intake. Order entries increased by 68% compared to the first half year 2020 which was heavily impacted by COVID-19 lockdowns.

The Group recorded sales of CHF 667.4m for the first six months of 2021, compared to CHF 523.8m in the first half of 2020. The operating result (EBIT) increased to CHF 14.6m compared to CHF -25.1m in 2020. The net result reached CHF 5.1m, up from CHF -30.0m in previous year.

Order backlog is 63% higher than in previous year. The Group expects a good second half of the year, managing increasing supply chain challenges linked to significant price increases, delays in parts and material supplies, as well as insufficient global transportation capacities.

During the first half of 2021, consolidated sales amounted to CHF 667.4m, representing an increase of CHF 143.6m, or +27.4%, compared with the same period in 2020. Volume and price variances had a positive impact of CHF 133.0m, or +25.4%.

An improvement of CHF 15.6m, or +3.0%, came from the full year effect of the acquisition of CITO SYSTEM GmbH, in Germany, completed in April 2020, and the acquisition of Jetpack SAS, Paris, France, in January 2021.
