Bringing creative and sustainable packaging solution is the main goal of the Czech national packaging competition Obal roku. The Food packaging award went to Cardbox Packaging for Míša Multipack, developed for OLMA, a.s.
The judges were impressed not only by the recyclability, which is almost a necessary part of every pack, but also by the recycled material from which the packaging is made. The logistical advantages were the highlight, as well as the graphics, which have an almost educational function, as the signs guide the consumer towards correct sorting. The packaging is now eligible to enter the WorldStar Packaging Award.
The multipack trend has mainly affected food products. The new multipack for Míša cheesecake desserts brings a family pack to the market, which is not only cost-effective for the end consumer, but also emphasises sustainability, as it is made paper that is also recyclable. The hotmelt applied on the bottom part, covered with a silicone strip, facilitates subsequent assembling during the final packaging of the products. The finished carrier can hold up to four cheesecakes, making it easy to handle when purchasing larger quantities. Short messages within the traditional graphics guide consumers to sort waste correctly, giving an educational function.
