Dunapack Packaging has recently completed a major automatisation and WIP stock project at its Strasswalchen plant in Autria.
With a 33 month project duration, a total investment of €12.1m was deployed, resulting in the creation of 1.2 million sqm of storage for corrugated board in a High Bay WIP storage system in front of the converting hall.
“The project represents one of our most substantial steps forward in logistics automation and operational efficiency and sets a new benchmark for efficiency, safety, and performance in our operations,” said the company in a statement. “The results of the investment will see increased productivity on the corrugator, reduced product and pallet damage, higher converting productivity and improved overall cost effectiveness.”
The company concluded, “This project was made possible through strong collaboration with our partners Hörmann Logistics and Van den Bos, whose expertise in high bay storage and logistics automation played a key role in bringing this vision to life.”
