Automatic storage system helps Solema maintain critical supplies of parts

Even though Solema decided to temporarily close its manufacturing site during the COVID-19 crisis, the company has been improving internal systems and adapting its automation concept to allow for continuous supply of spare parts and troubleshooting.

“Our new automatic storage system has allowed us to guarantee the full efficiency of spare parts supply, despite the overall situation,” explains Luca Parsani, CEO. “All spare parts – mechanical, electronic, pneumatic – for both graphic art and paperboard machines are available anytime for shipment. Obviously, spare parts delivery activities are proceeding within the terms allowed from the Express courier service companies.”

He continues, “Even if we are suffering travel restrictions that won’t allow our technicians to be at a customer’s site personally, we are always keeping in touch with customers thanks to a Telematic assistance service, using an advanced remote monitoring system. This allows our service team to interact directly with the machines at a customer’s premises, checking the operating status and when necessary, making software changes and updates.”

Parsani concludes, “We will continue to supply sales and after sales activities at our best through Smart Work services. Customers can write and call us and our team will be available for any request.”
