Arkhbum of Russia places three machine order with MHI

Giovanni Bettini, Sales Director, MHI EMEA, has confirmed the company has received a significant order from one of the leading Russian corrugated producers, Arkhbum Group. Received in the first weeks of 2022, the order is for three EVOL 100 flexo folder gluers; they will be installed at Arkhbum’s new greenfield site, which is being built in the same area as its Voronezh corrugated board plant. Each of the lines will be configured with four flexo printing units and each machine will run with an MHI MPF-M pre-feeder to help ensure maximum output.

Similar to the EVOL being installed at Arkhbum’s Kyiv Paper Mill in February 2022, the new machines will feature many optional extras, including reinforced die-cylinder, software for two-up operation, Valco GlueChek camera inspection with Clear Vision, defect bundle ejection conveyor and printing quality inspection system. The machines will be installed one at a time, starting in the summer of 2023, with the final machine being installed by the end of 2023.

Bettini explains, “Discussions began shortly after Pap-For expo in November and by early December, Arkhbum Group confirmed its desire to roll up a three machine package for the greenfield plant that is being planned. The new site is being built in an area of the country that has strong competition, so the company wanted machines that offered the highest performance; having good experience with the EVOL helped them place the order with us. They have the machine running for over three years at their Voronezh site, as well as the machine being installed at Kyiv Paper Mill.”

Bettini concludes, “But most importantly, the customer has been satisfied with our service, after-sales support and quick reaction, regardless whether it is an issue within the warranty period or not. We are delighted that Arkhbum Group has once again placed its trust in Mitsubishi, already owns five EVOL across its international company structure.”
