Antalis Packaging has appointed a new graduate, Ciara O’Driscoll, to the role of Graphic Designer in the Smart Packaging Centre, maintaining their commitment to investing in the packaging designers of the future.
O’Driscoll, who graduated in Graphic Communication and Illustration in 2022, works as a Graphic Designer in the Smart Packaging Centre’s Packaging Design team. She says, “My degree provided me with opportunities to develop and explore the different areas within graphic design including illustration, branding and packaging. I refined and utilised these skills to create socially and sustainably conscious projects during my time at university.”
Antalis is committed to investing in young talent, and regularly offers university students internships to help them develop their careers. After completing a one-year placement at Antalis, Charlotte Bradford was offered a full-time role as a Packaging Designer in the design team. Bradford was awarded several prestigious accolades for her work, including Placement Student of the Year (Large Corporation) for her contribution to Antalis’ work during her placement. She also won the Gold Sponsors Award from Klockner Pentaplast within the IOM3 Starpack Students Awards, and New Designers Creative Conscience ‘Ethical Designer of the Year’ Award for her final year university project utilising seaweed to help the maritime industry reach Net Zero within the UK 2050 goal.
Zoe Donaldson (pictured below) was one of the first interns to join Antalis’ Smart Packaging Centre during her time at Nottingham Trent University and was offered a full-time job after she finished her degree. She says, “The world always needs packaging and the industry is always pushing forward with new sustainable, creative and cost-effective materials, equipment and ideas, providing an exciting opportunity for any young designer.”
