Another new plant for Klabin, with $287m investment

Brazil-based Klabin has confirmed it is making an investment of R$1.6 bn (approximately $287m) for the construction of a new corrugated board plant in Piracicaba (São Paulo).

The new factory is scheduled to start operating in the second quarter of 2024 and will have an annual production capacity of 240,000 tons of corrugated board.

The company has said that work will begin in 2022 and should be completed by 2024. The scope initially includes the installation of two corrugators and nine flexo converting lines. The plant will be built on a plot of 950,000 sqm, allowing for future expansion. With the startup of the factory and other expansion projects already announced by the company, Klabin will have an installed capacity of approximately 1.3m tons of corrugated board per year, further consolidating its leading position in the Brazilian market.
