Amtech has recently confirmed the launch of a new software suite designed to help corrugated manufacturers manage hand assembly, assembled products, contract packaging, and value-added fulfilment services from a single platform.
As containerboard and sheet costs continue to increase, corrugated manufacturers are facing ongoing margin pressure. At the same time, many customers are looking for a broader range of packaging services, including kits, retail displays, pack-out, fulfilment, and contract packaging. These services provide manufacturers with opportunities to diversify revenue streams, strengthen customer relationships, and reduce their reliance on board and sheet margins. The new suite provides two levels of functionality to support these operations;
- EnCore Assembled Products is designed for manufacturers producing kits, sets, displays, and other products requiring manual assembly, enabling businesses to plan, execute, and track hand assembly workflows.
- EnCore Contract Packaging extends these capabilities for more complex contract packaging and co-manufacturing operations. It includes functionality for managing customer-supplied materials, component tracking, production reconciliation, variance reporting, and audit support.
The release also introduces new hand assembly scheduling capabilities within Amtech’s Advanced Planning Board. This enables production planners to schedule converting and hand assembly operations together, providing greater visibility of labour requirements, production capacity, crew allocation, and the relationship between converting processes and downstream assembly or fulfilment activities.
“Amtech worked closely with corrugated manufacturers to develop a solution that simplifies the planning, scheduling, execution, and tracking of assembled products and contract packaging,” said Danna Nelson, Senior Vice President of Products, Amtech. “These new capabilities help manufacturers improve operational efficiency while supporting the expansion of the products and services they can offer their customers.”
By integrating these workflows into EnCore and Advanced Planning Board, the software replaces disconnected spreadsheets, standalone databases, and point solutions with a single operating platform. Manufacturers can manage product structures, components, hand assembly operations, production reporting, inventory transactions, and scheduling within one system.
