In February, BHS Corrugated presented a Platinum Performer Award to Alliance Sheets in Bristol, Indiana. The sheet feeder ran what is believed to be the highest corrugator output for a 24-hour day: 13,177,262 sq ft. This was done on its 132-inch corrugator, the first 132-inch machine in North America. In achieving this record, the plant had 246 order changes with 60 grade changes. Brad Johnson of BHS Sales presented the award to Elvir Bilajac, Production Manager, and the plant. Afterwards, BHS Corrugated provided lunch for all three shifts as a thank you and to recognize their accomplishment.
The plant continues to perform at world class performance levels, averaging over 485 msf per machine hour in March 2019. Schwarz Partners has been a valued BHS Corrugated customer with full-line 110-inch machines at Heartland Sheets in Kansas City, Missouri, and Starcorr in Temple, Texas, along with a 132-inch machine at Encorr in Ontario, California.
Schwarz Partners recently started up its first BHS Corrugated wet-end with MF-A singlefacers at Northstar in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, and placed orders for a 132-inch triplewall machine for Triumph Sheets in Cleveland, Tennessee, and an MF-A grouping for Independence in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to be installed over the Fourth of July.
