Alcumus ‘SafeContractor’ accreditation for Bobst in UK

Bobst UK & Ireland has secured Alcumus SafeContractor’ status for the third year running, demonstrating the company’s commitment to its employees, as well as being a highly trusted partner to its customers. Part of Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) and PAS91, SafeContractor accreditation assures Bobst customers that the company meets the necessary requirements around health and safety, equal opportunities, diversity and environmental management practices.

Neil Jones, Managing Director, Bobst UK and Ireland, comments, “Today’s packaging converters need suppliers that meet a range of stringent criteria not just in terms of quality, service and cost, but in the wider context of health and safety, people and the environment. At Bobst, we know that we are driving our customers’ performance and that means right across their machines, processes and people. We have a responsibility that we take seriously to ensure our customers operate in a successful, safe and sustainable manner.

Jones concludes, “Achieving SafeContractor status reflects our continuous focus as a business on health and safety, not just in terms of how we run the business, but also in terms of the technology we supply and how our customers operate. Being an £11bn industry, with over 85,000 employees, health and safety issues are never far away for the UK packaging supply chain, especially when the sector is as busy as it is at the moment. Identifying supplier partners that truly understand the risks and are committed to continuous improvement is key to developing trusted relationships.”
