AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, announces the retirement of Taryn Pyle, Director of Training, Education, and Professional Development, effective June 30th, following 25 years of dedicated service to the Association and the independent packaging industry.

Throughout her tenure, Taryn played a transformative role in advancing AICC’s mission through education, leadership development, member engagement, and professional growth initiatives. Her commitment to creating meaningful learning opportunities helped shape the careers of countless individuals across the independent packaging community while strengthening the Association’s educational offerings and industry impact.

Over the course of her career, Taryn contributed to nearly every corner of the Association. She helped revitalize AICC’s publications, expanded member engagement efforts, championed leadership development programs, and was instrumental in the growth of Packaging University, which now provides AICC members with extensive access to free online education and training resources. Her work reflected a steadfast belief that investing in people is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen independent businesses and the industry overall.

In a recent message to members reflecting on her career, she expressed deep gratitude for the relationships and shared experiences that defined her time with AICC. She credited the Association’s members for helping shape her understanding of the industry and for creating a culture built on generosity, mentorship, and a willingness to share knowledge.

“Taryn’s influence in all AICC offerings, most recently Education programming, is one reason that there are so many benefits to membership today.” said Mike D’Angelo, President, AICC. “Her joy in the way she interacts with people will be a fond memory for so many. We’ll miss Taryn as she tackles her next adventures.”

Taryn’s influence can be seen in the generations of industry professionals who benefited from her guidance, educational programming, and unwavering support. Whether developing leadership pathways, creating training opportunities, or connecting members with valuable resources, she consistently worked to ensure that individuals and companies had the tools they needed to succeed.

Taryn has been succeeded by Rebecca Rendon, who joined AICC in October 2024 as Senior Manager of Education and Training and has already made a significant impact on the Association’s educational programming and member engagement initiatives.
