AICC announces Bid for the Promo Challenge

AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, announces its 2017 Independent Packaging Design Bid for the Promo Challenge. The challenge, open to all AICC General Members, is to design and manufacture a piece that promotes the AICC 2017 Independent Packaging Design Competition, “Welcome to Fabulous Design,” to independent box plants.

Over the past 24 years, many AICC members have competed to design and manufacture a piece to promote the biennial packaging design competition, held at AICC’s Annual Meeting. The next competition will be held in conjunction with the 2017 Annual Meeting, September 25-27 at The Encore Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

To accept the challenge: • A company must inform Cindy Huber, [email protected], it is interested in participating in the “Bid for the Promo Challenge.” • AICC will provide interested companies with the job specs. Companies are to design a promotional piece using corrugated, folding carton or rigid box as the primary medium (any combination). Companies are free to choose the printing process, ink colors, flute sizes and overall size. The theme of the 2017 Independent Packaging Design Competition is “Welcome to Fabulous Design.” • Companies accepting the challenge will have until March 10, 2017 to submit their design concepts to AICC. Then AICC’s Packaging Design Competition Committee will judge and select the winning designs. • The company who submits the winning concept(s) will manufacture the promotional piece in time for distribution to the AICC membership in summer 2017. However, companies that can produce the promotion piece in time to be distributed at the AICC 2017 Spring Meeting in Austin, Texas (April 26-28) will be given special consideration.

The winning company may include their company logo on the piece as well as the company logos of other companies who have donated materials and supplies. Also, the winning companies will be listed as sponsors for the meeting and receive one complimentary meeting registration to attend the AICC 2017 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas.
