The American Forest & Paper Association released its April 2017 U.S. Containerboard Statistics Report on May 16, including audited data for 2016 and 2017 based on the results of AF&PA’s 57th Annual Capacity Survey issued May 2017.
Containerboard production was 4.8 per cent higher compared to April 2016. The month-over-month average daily production compared to March 2017 was 2.7 per cent higher. The containerboard operating rate for April increased from 96.7 per cent to 97.1 per cent, which was 1.9 per cent higher compared to April of last year.
