Accurate Box Company, a certified women-owned business

Accurate Box Company is celebrating a big milestone this year with its 25th anniversary as a certified women-owned business.

In 1997, Lisa Hirsh became the CEO/President and majority owner of Accurate Box. Following in 1998, the company became certified as a women-owned business through a third-party certifier. It is now certified through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the nation’s leading third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women.

Lisa Hirsh, CEO/President, and Charlie Hirsh, past CEO/President and current Chairman.

Celebrating 25 years as a women-owned company is a huge achievement for a packaging manufacturer since there are very few women as leaders in the packaging industry. Lisa remembers, “When I started in the business, there were hardly any women. I would go to organizational meetings, and I’d be the only woman out of 200 people in the room.”

She has seen Accurate Box, along with the packaging industry, change a lot over the years, and she is happy to see there are more women in the industry now.

Accurate Box continues to grow under Lisa’s leadership and remains committed to the quality of its packaging and the needs of its customers. Now coming to the latter half of her career, Lisa says “I’m focused on teaching the next generation so they get the knowledge they need in the next few years to step up and take the reins.”

This includes her own daughter, Samara Ronkowitz, who is the fourth-generation and next woman to take over Accurate Box. Accurate Box is proud it will remain a family-owned and women-owned company and is looking forward to celebrating more milestones in the future.
