Absolute recently upgraded Reedbut Group’s three colour YSF with three 2G carbon fibre chambers, complete with pneumatic loading and three InkSave systems. The key driver behind the investment was the environmental benefits of reduced ink loss and reduced water usage, coupled with increased machine uptime.
Reedbut Group invested in the systems in order to make their machines more environmentally friendly, as they push to make their sites greener. On site commissioning from Absolute showed ink losses of just 0.8kg on colour change and only 23.5kg of wash water used, while reducing the wash down time to just 12 mins. The new chamber systems have also given Reedbut better, more consistent metering, meaning less wasted board and longer blade/seal life reducing the consumables used. In addition, Reedbut has also seen an increase in machine up time.
