The Cheshire-based paper and board converter, Slater Harrison, has achieved an A grade media test rating from Ricoh UK for the use of selected media on its digital presses.
The products include Centura Reflect Metallic silver, Argent & Slate and Centura Pearl snow white; they were run on the Ricoh Pro C7200x press. To achieve the accreditation the products were tested for image quality, fusability and feed performance.
The Centura range of coated papers & boards are FSC certified, and include Metallic, Pearlescent & Neon colours. The coatings are water & mica based, are free of metallic pigments or plastic and are fully recyclable and biodegradable. They offer a sustainable alternative to metallised polyester(metpol) and transfer metallised media. The absence of metallic content reduces static build up and enables smooth digital printing without interference.
The coatings are print receptive and suitable for all common print techniques, lamination, foil blocking and embossing. These grades are available in sheets from stock in both paper and board weights.
