Davidsson is new Vice President at European Paper Packaging Alliance

The Board of the European Paper Packaging Alliance has appointed Fredrik Davidsson as the new Vice President of the alliance. This comes at a crucial moment in the midst of the negotiations on the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

“I would like to thank Eric Le Lay for his tremendous work in support of EPPA’s mission and welcome Fredrik Davidsson to our team at a particularly sensitive time for our industry,” commented Antonio D’Amato, EPPA’s President. “The coming months will be decisive as we contribute science- and fact-based evidence to the European Parliament and Council’s revision of the PPWR. We need to ensure that EU policy is science-based to foster the most sustainable and efficient use of resources without putting food safety, food security and the health of EU citizens at risk.”

Davidsson comes to EPPA with a wealth of experience, having held pivotal roles at both Huhtamaki and Tetra Pak. At Tetra Pak, he served as Vice President Services Europe & Central Asia, leading a substantial European services business, driving large-scope R&D programs, and key change management initiatives. His move to Huhtamaki in June 2022 only amplified his expertise.

On his appointment, Davidsson said, “I’m thrilled to join the Board of the EPPA at such a pivotal time. With the European Union in the midst of negotiations regarding the PPWR, this is a critical opportunity to help shape the future of packaging in a way that promotes sustainability, responsibility, and economic vibrancy.”
