£1m investment in Cumbernauld

Pitreavie Group have confirmed a further £1m investment in new equipment at its Cumbernauld corrugated box plant.

The investment comes just a year and a half after the opening of the £3.8m sheet plant – Scotland’s first new sheet plant in 20 years. The manufacturing site features an innovation centre, where customers can visit and create bespoke packaging solutions, taking design samples home with them on the same day.

Remaining committed to future growth plans, the investment in new equipment includes a Bobst folder gluer and another Eterna flat bed die-cutter, which will arrive this autumn and support further expansion of the business. Pitreavie has invested a total £5m into the Cumbernauld site, creating 25 new jobs to date with a further seven to be created once new equipment arrives.

Stephen Heslop, Managing Director, says, “We are delighted with the progress we have made since our initial investment in late 2019, with demand from both our existing customers and new customers having surpassed our expectations.”

Despite the Cumbernauld site being launched at the outset of COVID-19 and navigating through Brexit, Pitreavie Group have stayed committed to providing customers with the innovative, eco-friendly packaging solutions they need, and as a result have continued to thrive.

Scott Alexander, Manufacturing Director,  adds, “I am really excited about the future and delighted to have placed the orders for the new equipment which will further enhance our overall capability.”
