HÖRMANN Intralogistics has completed and handed over a two-aisle high-bay warehouse for Dunapack Packaging Straßwalchen on schedule by 15th June, 2026. The automatic corrugated sheet warehouse is up and running.
The project comprised of the turnkey construction of a high-bay warehouse in silo construction, including storage and conveyor technology. Two double-mast storage and retrieval machines achieve a putaway capacity of 40 units per hour and picking capacity of 65 units per hour. In addition, conveyor technology for corrugated board formats, rack sprinkler systems and HiLIS Warehouse Control System were installed.
Turnkey approach for corrugated
This project demonstrates the implementation of Hörmann Intralogistics’ new turnkey intralogistics concept. In strategic partnership with Van den Bos Corrugated Machinery, the general contractor offers one-stop-shop solutions for corrugated board manufacturers – from high-bay warehouse technology to conveyor systems and software control from a single source.
“The new plant allows for us to significantly increase productivity and flexibility of our processes. This optimisation also comes with significant improvements of occupational safety,” explains Horst Santner, Cluster Managing Director, Dunapack Packaging Straßwalchen.
Arno Lettmair, Sales Engineer, Hörmann Intralogistics, adds, “The successful implementation proves the viability of our turnkey approach. Dunapack benefits from optimised throughput rates and other advantages of automation – all from a single source and with fewer system breaks.”
Gentle handling of corrugated board stacks – which weigh up to 2,350 kg and are not wrapped – is carried out by stacker cranes-specific travel curves and wide plastic modular belts on which the stacks are transported without a sub-pallet. The modular HiLIS system controls all warehouse processes, from connecting conveyor technology of the corrugator to incoming and outgoing goods of the automatic high-bay warehouse.
For Hörmann Intralogistics, this marks another successfully implemented project in the packaging and corrugated board industry.
