Logson Group acquires Playford Packaging

Logson Group has completed the acquisition of Playford Packaging, an independent corrugated sheet plant based in Wrexham, North Wales, marking the Group’s first entry into the Welsh market.

Established in 1980 and previously owned by the Morris family, Playford Packaging will continue to operate as a standalone business within Logson Group, with its existing management team remaining in place.

“I am very much looking forward to leading Playford Packaging into the next phase of its history and for us to become part of the renowned Logson Group,” said Richard Morris, Managing Director, Playford Packaging. “This acquisition allows us to deliver further growth, expand and evolve, seamlessly complementing our existing operations while mutually benefitting both organisations.”

“Playford Packaging is a great addition to the Logson family, and we are pleased to have acquired the business allowing us to expand our reach into Wales,” said David Richardson, CEO, Logson Group. “With a strong team at Playford Packaging, we are very excited to be able to share expertise and capabilities with the wider Logson Group.”

Playford Packaging joins Logson Group’s existing businesses, including Board24, Boxes and Packaging, Cases24, Jardin Corrugated, Red Rose Packaging, Boxshop, The Cardboard Box Company, Durham Box, Challenge Packaging and Kbins. The Group operates from more than 20 locations across the UK, generating annual turnover exceeding £400m and employing more than 1,200 people.
