Koenig & Bauer has confirmed that Christian Steinmaßl will succeed Markus Weiß as CEO of its Paper & Packaging Sheetfed Systems segment, effective 1 January 2027.

Weiß, who has led the segment since February 2025, will step down at the end of 2026 to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities outside the Group. During his tenure, the company has implemented strategic initiatives under its IMPACT programme, focusing on portfolio development, operational performance and customer relationships.
Steinmaßl has been a member of Koenig & Bauer’s Group Management since December 2024, with responsibilities spanning several business units, global procurement and the company’s production network. He brings experience in the paper and printing industries, including commercial and packaging printing.

The company confirmed that its existing strategy will remain unchanged, with continued emphasis on operational efficiency, site performance and the development of its sheetfed offset and packaging printing portfolio.
Weiß and Steinmaßl will work together during the remainder of 2026 to ensure continuity across customer projects and ongoing strategic initiatives.
