Weigang Technology has entered into a distribution agreement with Xeikon to sell, service, and support the Ecolyne platform in Greater China
Ecolyne is offered by Xeikon as an entry-level, industrial digital label press platform that aims to lower the barrier to entry for small-to-mid-sized converters and printers, who can access this capability through an outright press purchase or a flexible, capacity-based monthly subscription model that sees Xeikon retain ownership of equipment ownership and handle installation, servicing, and maintain uptime.
By bringing Xeikon Ecolyne to Greater China through Weigang, printers benefit from the technology platform complemented by the support of an established local engineering and manufacturing name.
Walter Benz, President, Flint Group Digital Xeikon, said, “It is the platform we have developed for converters who want to start producing labels digitally using a true industrial setup, with the print quality, substrate range and uptime that their customers expect.
“By combining our technology with Weigang’s regional strength, we are making Ecolyne more accessible and more responsive to customers across the region.”
As well as the Ecolyne distribution agreement, the companies signed a manufacturing and sourcing agreement covering Ecolyne production and a broader contract manufacturing agreement providing a framework for a manufacturing cooperation over time – product-specific, geographic and implementation details for the broader agreement will be detailed as individual projects progress.
