Durst Group has reported a 3x increase in sales of hybrid label printing systems over the previous 12 months, driven by market demand for fully integrated platforms.
This demand comes as a result of label converters facing increasing pressure for shorter runs, faster turnaround times, greater SKU complexity, and more efficient use of production resources, according to Durst.
Durst’s high-speed inkjet print engines are able to be configured as part of hybrid label printing platforms, while the company complements its inkjet digital printing technology with advanced workflow software, colour management and quality control, inline flexo and finishing integration, and service support, to build scalable integrated digital label production environments that can adapt to changing business needs.
Durst’s Digital Label Factory concept has been conceived to bring this all together and ‘reduces the complexity of coordinating multiple vendors and disconnected systems’, the company stated.

“Our customers are not just investing in a press, they are investing in a complete production ecosystem,” said Thomas Macina, Director Global Sales, Labels and Flexible Packaging, Durst.
“The sales growth reflects the market’s recognition of the integrated capabilities and scalability of our Digital Label Factory approach.”
