Packsize completes acquisition of Panotec packaging business

Packsize has confirmed the completion of its acquisition of the packaging business of Italian machinery manufacturer Panotec, expanding its portfolio of automated, on-demand packaging systems and its international customer base.

The transaction follows an agreement reached in June 2026 and brings together two manufacturers specialising in right-sized packaging technology. The combined businesses have an installed customer base spanning more than 50 countries across North America, Europe and other international markets.

Founded nearly 40 years ago, Panotec develops and manufactures machinery for producing custom-sized corrugated packaging, with applications across e-commerce, logistics, furniture manufacturing and other industrial sectors. Its product range includes automated packaging lines and machinery designed to produce boxes according to individual product dimensions.

The acquisition will broaden Packsize’s equipment offering, combining Panotec’s machinery and engineering expertise with its existing packaging automation technology, software and service capabilities.

“This acquisition further aligns our go-to-market approach and strengthens our ability to offer more flexibility and choice to businesses looking to optimise packaging operations while reducing waste and cost,” said Brian Reinhart, Chief Revenue Officer at Packsize, when the agreement was originally confirmed in June.

Panotec previously confirmed that Italy would remain an important part of its future development, with continued investment in its Italian operations, customer support and commercial network. The company also highlighted the importance of retaining its engineering expertise and existing customer relationships during the integration process.

The acquisition follows Packsize’s purchase of Sparck Technologies in 2025, which added automated fit-to-size packaging systems, including box-last and lid-and-tray technology, to its portfolio.

Packsize said the addition of Panotec will support its plans to expand its international operations and provide customers with a wider range of automated packaging solutions.
