Packrite LLC has invested in a Kodak Magnus Q3600 Titan Platesetter and Kodak Sonora Process Free Plates as part of a wider investment to bring litho label production for corrugated packaging in-house for the first time.
The High Point, NC-based corrugated packaging producer is also installing a new eight-colour Koenig & Bauer press as part of the project. The investments will give Packrite greater control over print quality, production efficiency and flexibility, particularly for customers in sectors including food and pharmaceutical packaging.

“We’re making a significant investment in state-of-the-art technology throughout the facility and it’s important to partner with suppliers that share our commitment to quality and performance,” said Michael Drummond, CEO, Packrite. “Bringing production in-house strengthens our ability to support customers in demanding sectors such as food and pharmaceutical packaging, where speed, quality and consistency are critical.”
Packrite has specified the Magnus Q3600 Titan with Kodak’s Multi-Cassette Unit, which automates plate loading and reduces operator intervention. The use of Sonora Process Free Plates will also eliminate plate processing equipment, chemistry and associated water consumption from the company’s new platemaking workflow.
The investment forms part of Packrite’s longer-term strategy to expand its internal production capabilities and streamline the manufacture of litho-labelled corrugated packaging.
