Voith and Sun Paper have successfully started up the new PM47 packaging paper machine at Sun Paper’s Yanzhou mill in China, with the machine reaching its maximum operating speed of 1,400 m/min ten days after start-up.
The 8.66m wide multi-fourdrinier machine was supplied by Voith as a complete production line and incorporates an OCC stock preparation system with a capacity of 2,200 tonnes per day.
The installation also incorporates Voith automation and digital technologies, including MCS, QCS, OnCare.CM and MillOne, designed to support production control, monitoring and mill operations.
According to Voith, the project progressed from the start of civil construction to production of the first reel in 11 months and eight days. The installation continues a relationship between Voith and Sun Paper spanning more than 20 years and more than ten production lines.
