LEIPA has confirmed it has reached a production milestone on its PM5, with the paper machine producing its three millionth tonne of corrugated base paper.
PM5 was converted from newsprint production to corrugated base paper in 2016 and is used to manufacture LEIPA Classic white, an uncoated packaging paper supplied to domestic and international markets in grammages ranging from 100 to 160 gsm.
The machine has a trimmed working width of 8.5m, a maximum production speed of 1,200m/min and an annual production capacity of 450,000 tonnes. LEIPA thanked the PM5 team for its contribution to reaching the three million tonne milestone, as well as customers for their continued support.
