UPM Adhesive Materials has published its Climate Review 2025, showing strong progress toward its 2030 ambitions.
In 2025, the business reduced Scope 1 and 2 emission intensity by 58% (vs. 2015), driven by targeted site-level actions to improve energy efficiency and reduce fossil fuel use. At the same time, collaboration across the value chain is strengthening. Engagement with raw material suppliers has significantly increased primary data coverage, improving visibility into Scope 3 emissions.
Customer support remains central. Through the UPM Label Life service, externally validated product footprint data is now available for around 94% of label products by sales volume, helping customers make more sustainable choices. Solutions like UPM RafCycle™ continue to enable efficient recycling of label waste.
“Customers need impactful ways to reduce carbon footprint and respond to evolving recyclability and regulatory requirements. The significant progress we’ve made in emissions reductions, product footprint data availability and product portfolio development helps them make material choices that meet these needs,” says Robert Taylor , Director, Sustainability, UPM Adhesive Materials.
The work continues in 2026, with a focus on accelerating value chain emission reductions, developing circular products and making environmental data even more accessible.
