After over ten years of continuous evolution, Solema’s UNI.CO machine is enhanced with a new configuration: introducing UNI.CO X, the solution designed to offer manufacturers of partitions, pads, and cardboard accessories the ability to also produce small batches of boxes.
For over ten years, UNI.CO (short for Universal Converting) has represented one of the most innovative systems developed by Solema. Designed for cutting solid and corrugated board, UNI.CO is a modular platform capable of adapting over time to a company’s production needs, thanks to an evolutionary system based on integrable modules.
The exclusive strength of UNI.CO is its modular structure, which allows the production line to be expanded by adding new processing units without replacing the entire system.
Over time, this Solema philosophy has given rise to various configurations within the range, designed to achieve maximum precision in processing for the converting and secondary packaging sectors:
- UNI.CO I – Combined longitudinal and transverse cutting;
- UNI.CO G – With an additional unit for creasing, scoring, and half-cutting tools;
- UNI.CO F – With an additional unit for punching;
- UNI.CO S – Complete configuration featuring all available cutting modules.
Today, this success story evolves further with the birth of the UNI.CO X machine. More than just a technical update, UNI.CO X represents a new, advanced configuration of the UNI.CO platform, designed to offer a tangible advantage to companies already operating in the partition and pad sector.
With the new X configuration, the machine maintains its primary vocation in solid and corrugated board converting, but introduces a new production capability: the manufacturing of small batches of cardboard boxes.
This is not about replacing current production, but empowering it by offering customers the chance to expand their business in a smart, flexible, and sustainable way: this is the true added value of the new X configuration.
The strategic key to the machine is the presence of the DTL module, which incorporates three operating sub-stations:
- A simplified die-cutting system;
- A transverse creasing system;
- A pair of expandable shafts for circular tools for longitudinal creasing.
UNI.CO X can produce up to 600 boxes per hour, a capacity perfectly suited for managing micro-batches for quick and easily manageable productions. This is a totally different concept from systems dedicated to ultra-high runs: the machine was born to serve a very high-value market niche short runs.
The ideal user of UNI.CO X is therefore companies already operating in converting that wish to expand their production offering to include small batches of boxes.
The new UNI.CO X configuration has been developed to produce various models of boxes belonging to the FEFCO standard. This allows the operator to work with standardised models that are internationally recognized and immediately integrable into company production workflows.
