French containerboard mill, Wizpaper, based in Wizernes, is closing following a financial decision of the Lille commercial court. Around 150 people are being laid off.
Soaring prices, supply delays and significant financial difficulties had already weakened the company, which has previously been placed under judicial recovery at the request of the company’s management. Due to the lack of a potential buyer and considering the state of the paper market, the court ordered judicial liquidation.
