MM Kwidzyn is taking a decisive step towards a more sustainable future with the installation of a state-of-the-art continuous digester in its integrated pulp mill, complemented by additional energy improvement measures focusing on the reutilisation of residual heat and reducing overall energy consumption.
This move, scheduled to become operational in the fourth quarter of 2026, will significantly reduce CO₂ emissions and energy consumption. It will further enhance the cost leadership of MM Kwidzyn for FBB and strengthen the competitiveness in Uncoated Fine Paper, Packaging Kraft Paper and Market Pulp.
The environmental impact will be substantial. Annual CO₂ emissions will decrease by around two-thirds, and the share of green energy in the mill’s energy mix will rise to more than 70%.
“These improvements not only meet growing customer demand for low-carbon products but also enhance our competitiveness and energy autonomy, securing MM Kwidzyn’s position as a leader where sustainability and competitiveness go hand in hand in board, paper and pulp production,” said Filip Drofiak, Chairman of the Board, MM Kwidzyn.
