Marbach presents new technology for die-cutting honeycomb board. Die-cutting on both sides now makes it possible to process even thicker materials while optimising quality and increasing efficiency.
Honeycomb board is one of the most challenging materials in converting. It is thick, stable, and difficult to penetrate. To meet these challenges, Marbach has been relying on special tools with particularly robust tooth cutting rules and special ejector technology for years. Now the company is taking a decisive step forward with an innovative solution for double-sided die-cutting of honeycomb board.
Previously, several steps were required to completely process honeycomb board: die-cutting and embossing on one side, manually turning the material, then processing the second side. With the new technology, everything is now done in a single operation.
This technology enables die-cutting and embossing from above and below at the same time. Even particularly thick honeycomb board can be processed precisely and reliably. The consistency of the processing results in clean, straight cut edges, which not only improves the appearance but also the stackability of the end product. In addition, embossing can now be carried out on both sides at the same time – a major advantage in production that saves time and makes the work process more efficient.
The new solution also convinces from an economic point of view: since the material is cut evenly, wear on the cutting rules is reduced. An additional anvil is no longer necessary. For customers, this means longer running times, less downtime, and lower spare parts costs.
